Postgraduate Briefing for new students of FBE was held on the 6th July 2010 at FBE Seminar Hall by the Head of Department Postgraduate & Research, Associate Professor Dr Mohd Zin Kandar. It was attended by all Postgraduate Program Coordinators including AP Dr Syed Aidid (MSc Urban Design), AP Dr Rosi (MSc Construction Contract Management), Dr Rafee (MSc Town & Regional Planning), Dr Nizam (MSc Tourism Planning), Dr Mohd Zaly Shah (MSc Transport Planning) and En Jamaluddin (Coordinator of CCM offshore program). About 80 new postgraduate students registered their study this semester in coursework, mixed mode or research at MSc and PhD level were present. This semester about 50% students from overseas and another 50% are local. The head of department PG&R explaining on rules and regulation as FBE postgraduate students and informing about facilities to be used by students. FBE currently established with two significant Centre of Excellent (CoE) and several research groups/team. Several numbers of research labs and resource centres are among facilities that may benefited students in their studies.
Among important note expressed by the head of department are also research publications to be produced before the final submission of student's thesis. Involvement in Postgraduate Students Society is also an important point to be participated by all new students.
